The project titled “Quality Control Workstation for Industrial Leather Hides Using AI – 52593” was initiated in February 2024 and successfully completed in February 2025. The project was funded under the Early Development Program by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
The aim of the project was to develop a scalable solution for quality control of industrially processed leather using artificial intelligence. The solution consists of a combination of hardware, in the form of a vacuum table with an integrated illumination chamber, and accompanying software for machine control, including an artificial intelligence module.
As part of the project, intellectual property was registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, including:
A trademark (the logo of the startup DigitaLLeather d.o.o.),
Copyrighted works:
“Photographs of leather pieces taken under controlled conditions with accompanying defect annotation files”
“An algorithm for automated control of the size of segmented objects according to a specified leather industry standard, along with the supporting code”
Industrial design of the chamber and vacuum table as part of the technical solution.
Additionally, the project included certification according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, which pertains to the Quality Management System.
